Kuleni Umbrella Pension Fund is a retirement fund where multiple and unrelated employers may join as opposed to a single fund established for one employer only (i.e. a stand-alone fund). Apart from the retirement savings element, insured benefits can be included as part of the package.

This umbrella fund pools the contributions of various employers and members in one fund and the greater number of participants allows for cost savings and for delivering true value to the umbrella fund members.

When you Join Kuleni Umbrella Fund you determine your own benefits. Risk cover benefits are reviewed annually, comparing to several insurance companies. The selection of investment managers is based on best performance and suitable investment philosophy.

How to join Kuleni Umbrella Pension Fund

  1. Any employer in Namibia my apply to become a participating Employer in the Fund.
  2. The application shall be made in writing to the Board of Trustees of this Fund.
  3. Once approved, we will jointly draft special rules applicable to the Employer.
  4. Special rules specify the level of contributions and benefits.
  5. The Special rules will be submitted to the Regulator for approval and once approved the membership starts.

The General rules makes general provisions for the benefits provided, the management of the Fund etc.
